One of the guests suddenly stands up and heads towards the door. Ash walks towards it in desperation, and through the screen door, he can see a pair of musicians performing, as the guests enjoy their dinner. Tired and hungry, Ash and his friends wander the streets, until a particular hotel room catches their eye. Unfortunately, the Pokemon Center is booked, as are all of the islands' hotels. The weird hippie likes to give them riddles, and as he leaves, he gives them a card that says ‘The Big Riddle Inn.’ During the night, Ash and his friends are searching for a hotel to spend the night at so that they won’t have to camp out again. His gym now lies in ruins, an odd contrast to the lively city atmosphere. Ash and his friends run into a mysterious hippie who explains that the local Gym Leader was so upset, that he packed up, and left. The Cinnabar Island Pokemon Gym lies in ruins, the laboratory has become a mini-mart, and the Pokemon Center has become a hotel-for people! Many of Cinnabar Island’s residents are unhappy with this turn of events, including the local Gym Leader.Įven Team Rocket is getting into the resort mood by selling Meowth-shaped cookies at one of the stands. When Ash and his friends get off the cruise ship, they discover that Gary was right. Cinnabar Island has become something of a resort town. Gary explains to Ash and his friends that Cinnabar Island is no longer just a Pokemon Town. Unfortunately, on the ship, they meet up with Ash's rival, Gary.Īpparently, he too, is on his way to Cinnabar Island.as are all of the other people on the cruise ship. Might remove it.Ash, Brock, and Misty hitch a ride on a cruise ship, anxious to reach Cinnabar Island, so that Ash can take on the next Gym Leader and win his next badge, the Volcano Badge. Adding XY026 (Fennekin move + Serena development) and XY038.Īlso as of now adding XY051, which is undoubtedly a filler, but most people (including myself) felt was a very entertaining episode. I'll add it to my technical non-filler list. New move episodes that are otherwise fillers like where Clemont's Luxio uses Wild Charge without any training and without any real importance to the episode plot are ones I'm hesitant to recommend. I guess the way I see it, episodes like where Froakie actively trains and learns Double Team are worth watching. As of now, I'm going to keep it off the main one simply because I feel if Alexa appeared again the future, this episode would have no reference or influence. Tom, I might make a list of technical non-fillers that would include this episode. That bit happens at the very tail end of the episode as well. We watched XY025 without needing 24 and it seemed just fine to me. But you don't believe that there aren't fillers in XY? This list pretty much covers all the things that make an episode not filler. * Episodes where in-game mechanics are explained or shown for the first time * Gym Leader/Gym Leader's Pokémon development episodes * History and development of the Pokémon World episodes * Episodes where one of Ash's old traveling companions comes back * Episodes with evil team members of the regionĪdditional things I would consider non-filler: * Episodes with Gym Leaders/Elite Four/Champions in them * Episodes where Pokémon learns a new move Things which should be classified as non-filler: The important can be argued but you can't call an evolution episode a filler, it might not matter to you because you don't like that pokemon, but your opinion doesn't affect the filler status. It doesn't matter if someone finds an episode irrelevant due to bias, there are just certain things that make an episode non filler.
